Responsibilities
To ensure Continuous Improvement in all products, manufacturing systems and design. To create systems and procedures to make jobs and work more efficient and profitable To ensure that manufacturing has all engineering resources necessary to produce the product To engineer, specify and detail products within the confines of the specifications ensuring the corporation’s profitability, and to reject orders that do not comply. To ensure that all orders are clean and complete to the shop floor (CAD/CAM/BOM/SFD) To ensure that the computer system can upload specifications to Manufacturing Equipment (Saws and CNC’s) (Integrate with Manufacturing computer system) To ensure similar equipment is mutually compatible (CNC’s) To fully support and respond to manufacturing for any engineering related issues that arise. To manage the Warranty and Deficiency Program and procedures. To report Warranty and Deficiency Statistics To be SRED Project Manager To be ISO 9001 Administrator To initiate ISO 14001 To develop LEEDS certification To develop Green Guard certification Tasks To produce product specifications from PDQ forms/items To define PDQ signoff procedure To conduct thorough contract review (Customer P/O’s) To provide specifications for procurement of special items. To develop and manage system for procurement coordination for all orders. To work with Accounting to develop system to track costing. To verify all order details To provide Auto Cad drawings To provide product design support To provide CNC programming for all orders To provide CNC operator training and support To provide BOM’s in Filemaker To provide SFD’s within 5 days To reduce processing time for SFD’s by 50% To follow up on shop floor for prototypes and first run custom products To review type 2 and 3 PO’s within 24 hours and provide initial procurement requirements To review type 2 and 3 PO’s against system orders to provide detailed BOM review, procurement requirements and shop floor documentation. To conduct SFD review prior to release to manufacturing. To do production scheduling To do product improvements
